Back in the Saddle Again
"When you know what you want, and want it bad enough, you will find a way to get it." -Jim Rohn
I've been waiting quite a long time for this moment. This is something that been working towards for what seems like forever. There have been many obstacles in my way, but the time has finally come...to get back in the saddle again!
And it's so exciting for me to be able to share this with you.
It has been about five years since I had been able to spend time at a stable and pay for lessons. For reasons like moving and accessibility, riding just wasn't available to me. I did, however, make it a goal of mine to get back in the saddle at some point. Unfortunately, it did take five years to get to this moment, but I am so glad I stuck to my goal.
Now, I am happy to be back at a barn. It's going to take a while to get back into the swing of things, but I am so optimistic about the adventure ahead. It'll take a few rides before I'm not sore anymore and that I can communicate well with the horse I've been assigned to. I know that it will take time before I'm back up to speed, but at least I am moving in the right direction.
If there's one thing I've learnt the most throughout my struggle to be able to ride again, it would be to never give up. If there's something that you want, fight for it. It'll be worth your while in the end. If you fall, get back up. If you fail, at least you can say that you tried. Living with regrets and the "what-ifs" will just eat you up inside. It's much better to take a chance and see where it takes you.
Nothing that you really want in life is given to you. It takes your own effort and determination to make it happen. And though there will be many things in your way trying to stop you, your hard work will make it so much more worth it in the end. And I wouldn't want it any other way.
So, I look forward to sharing my experiences with you in the future. From what I learn in my lessons to my experiences at the competitions to buying a horse of my own (hopefully!), I can't wait to bring you all along.
Until next time, happy riding!
